Frequently Asked Questions

What is CEREC same-day dentistry, and how does it work?

CEREC technology allows us to design, create, and place dental crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers in a single visit. Using digital scanning and 3D printing, CEREC eliminates the need for temporary restorations and multiple appointments. This saves time and ensures a perfect fit for your new restoration, leaving you with a renewed smile the same day.

What are the benefits of laser dentistry?

Laser dentistry offers precise, minimally invasive treatments with less pain, reduced bleeding, and faster healing times. It can be used for a variety of procedures, such as gum reshaping, cavity removal, and treating soft tissue conditions, providing a more comfortable experience than traditional methods.

How does the GALILEOS® CBCT scanner improve my treatment?

The GALILEOS® CBCT scanner captures highly detailed 3D images of your teeth, bones, and surrounding tissues, providing a more complete view than traditional X-rays. This technology is especially helpful for dental implant planning, root canal treatment, and diagnosing complex issues, ensuring accurate and efficient care.

What types of sedation are available at Briargate Advanced Family Dental?

Fluoride strengthens tooth enamel, making it more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars. It’s especially beneficial for children, but adults prone to decay can also benefit. Fluoride treatments during regular check-ups provide an extra layer of protection against cavities.

Is sedation dentistry safe, and who can benefit from it?

Yes, sedation dentistry is safe when administered by trained professionals. It’s ideal for patients with dental anxiety, special needs, or those undergoing lengthy procedures. Our team carefully monitors each patient throughout the process to ensure comfort and safety, helping you relax and receive the care you need without fear.

What to Expect From Your First Visit

Your initial dental exam is a thorough, diagnostic-focused visit that includes detailed imaging (inside and outside of your mouth), a CBCT scan for 3D views of your teeth and jaws, and a comprehensive exam with your dentist. We’ll assess key areas such as teeth alignment, muscle and joint health, soft tissue, occlusion, past trauma, periodontal health, and signs of sleep apnea. Please note that no cleaning is performed during this first exam, as we focus on gathering the full scope of your oral health to tailor a personalized care plan.
